[Fuzzed up Surf]

Awestruck

This track is amazing. How you layered over the different guitar parts...was epic. After the intro when the power chords kicked in, I thought it would just be some sort of punk rock song. I was fooled. How thrilled I was when the the epic solo came in! Keep posting, I love your stuff. You're very talented JoNoGo. Respect.

Thanks it means alot that ypu enjoyed it. You may also like link wray or dick dale who i was listening to when i got into this California surf music, as well as j.f (RHCP) live at slane castle.

Punk has it's merit to by the way - would love to write a nice punk track - jam, clash PIL style.

Good

I really enjoyed the sad melodic woodwind instrument in the beginning. It's a flute right? When I first heard it, I knew the song would be good. It's sound is great. It really does remind me of snake charmers. If it had to remind me anything else it would be a war anthem or something. Like a song the choir plays after the battle when they gather up the wounded.

The whole mood of the song is moving. You played it great ktgen. I like the tone of the guitars you got. I also liked that in addition to the main lead guitar, during the verse you had another guitar "singing" the vocals. Very clever.

This cover is the closet sound you can probably get to Jimi Hendrix. The guitar tone is beautiful too. Nicely done.

One of my favourites my parents used to make me listen to on the long car rides when I was a kid. Although I think it was a different version of the song. It's great though....so retro.

Sound Quality

Ok, good guitar playing. Notes are perfect and the timing is precise but the sound quality is terrible. I'm not trying to bashing your music skils or anything but honestly, the video is fail, not the cover. You can always make another one and get the sound quality better. Try moving the guitars away from the amp and mic farther, and turn them up. If you have a digital camera or recorder this will work fine but by no means NEVER use a cell phone or Ipod. They will have ok sound, but when you upload it it will sound terrible. I say stick with recording in a larger room next time aswell.
I hope this helps you guys out some. I do plan on seeing more of your stuff in the future! :D
